About Crocodile Park Dandeli

Crocodile Park, Dandeli is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Karnataka that comes under the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, It is the place that I think you must visit once in your lifetime to experience these big, dangerous water Giants, Crocodiles!

The two-acre park has been built on the banks of river Kali with a budget of Rs 3 crore. The construction work of this park began in the year 2019 But due to the pandemic, the construction work got delayed and at last, got completed in June 2021. our MLA R V Deshpande inaugurated this Park near Dandelappa temple and we got our First Crocodile Park in Karnataka.

According to some locals of Dandeli, they say that they used to see these Crocodiles in the Kali River, I am talking before 2019, They say that some crocodiles used to come up near the Houses in Dandeli near Kogilban and many people had seen these water giants while fishing, but it was not so famous, but as the days passed the numbers of these crocodiles got increased, then it started to get recognition and now it has become the well-known park.

If you are an adventure lover who loves to walk in nature and If you are a photography enthusiast, then this park provides many opportunities to capture the raw beauty of crocodiles in their natural habitat. I know that some of you may have a question in your mind that..

Is Crocodile Park, Dandeli Safe to visit?

The park is built in such a way that you can see these water creatures from a viewing ramp that has been constructed from where visitors can see the crocodiles. The viewing ramp is several feet above the Kali River, where the crocodiles are located. So it is very safe.

Not only this The Crocodile Park also has an amusement Park, walking Path, and garden where your children can enjoy playing fun games, also they have big statues of Crocodile, Deer, Giraffe and other animals.

The park is of course a good place to visit with your family members, here you will get a chance to see varieties of crocodile species from big and giant types to small and dwarf crocodiles. This park is surrounded by forests where you can also see some of the most beautiful bird species such as Hornbill, Peacock, Pigeon, etc.

According to the people of Dandeli, there are so many crocodiles in this Kali river that they can’t be counted at all. So, I took it upon myself to go there and count the crocodiles and after counting I was shocked to know the numbers. As you can see in the third image above only there are 9 Crocodiles sleeping. But actually there were 10 but one of them went inside the water, that is shown in the video It demonstrates how the crocodile hid itself and how it was swimming.

🏝️Crocodile Park is approximately 2.7 km away from Dandeli Bus Stand. If you have a private vehicle then It will take you around 9 Minutes to reach this Park and if you are using City Buses which is the cheapest option then it will take around 10 – 15 Minutes to Reach there.

Distance from Haliyal to Crocodile Park Karnataka

🏝️The Distance from Haliyal to Crocodile Park, Dandeli is around 20 kilometers, which will take you around 30 to 35 Minutes to reach, and the best thing of this park is that this Park is located between Haliyal and Dandeli, This means you can directly visit the this Park, before heading to Dandeli.

🏝️The Crocodile Park in Dandeli is located approximately 55.3 kilometers from Dharwad New Bus Terminal. You can directly travel to the road leading to Haliyal, and from there, proceed to Dandeli. As mentioned earlier, the park is situated between Haliyal and Dandeli, making it easily accessible from both locations.
