Discover the Beauty of Sathodi Falls in Yellapur: A Complete Guide

Sathodi Falls, Dandeli

As one of the most popular waterfalls in the Dandeli region, Sathodi Falls offers an ideal retreat for those who enjoy immersing themselves in the beauty of nature. Surrounded by dense jungles, towering trees, and impressive rock formations, the falls create a surreal experience, making it a must-visit place in Dandeli, Karnataka.

My First Visit to Sathodi Falls

Before delving into providing information about Sathodi Falls, let me share my experience of visiting this waterfall in Karnataka. My first visit was around a year ago, during the last year of my engineering studies. My friend Rutwik and I both reside in Dandeli. During holidays or weekends, we would often embark on rides to explore different places in Dandeli. After extensively exploring various spots, we found ourselves contemplating where to go next one day.

We decided to head to Kulgi, which is approximately 10 km from Dandeli. However, realizing that we had been to Kulgi more than ten times, we decided to venture into a new place. Rutwik suggested that we visit Sathodi Falls, which had been on my bucket list for a while. With ample time on a Sunday, we spontaneously set off for Sathodi Falls without informing anyone at home.

Let me tell you, that day’s ride to Sathodi Falls turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Without knowledge of Sathodi Waterfalls’ address, we relied on Google Maps for directions. Upon reaching the destination, we embarked on a delightful nature walk through the jungles. Finally, the majestic waterfalls came into view. However, reaching the falls posed a unique challenge – one must either swim or possess rock climbing expertise due to the abundance of rocks. Navigating through the rocks to stand in front of Sathodi Falls, capture pictures, and enjoy the water was truly an adventure.

An important tip from my side before visiting Sathodi Falls – Make sure you have a Good Vehicle that is capable of handling the stones and the bad road of sathodi falls, and also make sure your vehicle has a sufficient fuel supply, with at least 3-4 liters to cover the journey comfortably.”
