My Visit to Sykes Point, Dandeli

I am telling you this based on my Experience. I still remember that day it was during September 2022, During the rainy season when me and my friends planned to visit this famous place in Dandeli, Sykes Point. As we had never seen this place, before. So we just took our vehicle and started our journey, and just like this place the road leading to the Sykes Point itself is a treat to eyes during monsoon. During the rainy season, the road looked so dark that I couldn’t tell you its true meaning, all the trees had turned green, rainwater was falling on the ground, and there was a complete fog on the road. It felt as if we were riding in the sky. But when we reached Sykes point, the whole weather became cloudy and the rain stopped you cannot imagine the magical sight that we saw, and I have no words to explain the beauty.

But visiting this Place is not so easy. You have to pass many security checks to visit Sykes Point in Dandeli, after that you have to take the permission from the Government officers, and only if they allow, then only you will get a chance to enjoy the beauty of this best tourist place in Dandeli.

Located at a distance of 24 Km from Dandeli Bus Stand, Sykes Point is the most famous viewpoint in Ambikanagar, named after the British Officer who discovered this spot to watch the beauty of Nature. Things to Know Before Visiting Sykes Point in Dandeli

We all know that to see or achieve anything, there are always some obstacles in our way. And here the obstacle is that to visit this place you have to get permission from the KEB (Karnataka Electrical Board) office in Ambikanagar, The reason we have to take the permission is that there is a Nagjhari Hydropower station below this point & for security purposes, they have made it strict.

Also even if you get permission to visit Sykes Point, you are strictly not allowed to use Mobile Phones and Cameras, which means you cannot capture the beautiful moments of Sykes Point. There are 2 to 3 forest dept Check Posts along the road and the forest officers might stop you for a routine check. Once cleared all these Check Posts, you will get a chance to visit this tourist place in Dandeli. Remember one thing all the movements of visitors are monitored by CC Cameras and KPC Security personnel.
